Power soccer is the first competitive sport designed and developed specifically for power wheelchair users. Athletes’ disabilities include quadriplegia, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy and many others. The game is played in a gymnasium on a regulation basketball court. Two teams of four players attack, defend and spin kick a 13-inch soccer ball in a skilled and challenging game similar to able-bodied soccer.
- Everyone is welcome, however each participant will need to bring a powerchair. Share what chair you will be using in your RSVP so we will can fit the soccer equipment to your chair.
- Note that power soccer can be a contact sport as you may run into a peer in pursuit of the ball during a scrimmage. We will have a basic skills course prior to any scrimmage.
- Please wear a face covering and practice physical distancing during the event. Stay home if you’re feeling ill or have a fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing.
